EKSA Headsets Setup Instructions Under Common Systems

Under normal circumstances, the EKSA headset does not need any settings. Just plug it in and use it. If you come into unusual circumstances, you can set it according to the following instructions.

FAQ About EKSA Headsets

The microphone has no sound.
  1. Please refer to the user manual to connect the headset and the computer correctly, confirm that the connection is in good contact, and turn on the headset (EKSA wired headsets are just plug-and-play). Then open a chat APP or game APP.
  2. Make sure that the headset microphone is not muted, and the microphone of the computer is not muted too.
  3. Correctly set the computer audio input driver; to get this set up, you can refer to our blogs on the instructions of using EKSA headsets on different computer system. Specifically, if you are with EKSA USB headset, please check this blog; if you are with EKSA Bluetooth headset, check this one.
  4. Change to a different USB port or computer for testing.
The volume when using the microphone is low.
  1. The microphone pole should be as close to the mouth as possible to improve the microphone sound effect.
  2. Turn up the volume of the computer's microphone. To get this set up, you can refer to the blog of adjusting the volume of EKSA headset's microphone on a computer.
The headsets have no sound, or the quality of the sound is low.
  1. Please refer to the user manual to connect the headset and the computer correctly, confirm that the connection is in good contact; and turn on the headset (EKSA wired headsets are just plug-and-play). Then open a chat APP or game APP.
  2. Make sure that the headset's microphone is not muted, and the computer's microphone is not muted too.
  3. Turn up the headset's volume or the computer's main volume as needed.
  4. Correctly set up the computer audio output driver; to get this set up, you can refer to our blogs on the instructions of using EKSA headsets on the different computer systems. Specifically, if you are with EKSA USB headset, please check this blog; if you are with EKSA Bluetooth headset, check this one.
  5. Please try a different USB interface on the PC or another computer for testing.
Headsets are noisy or intermittent.
  1. Please refer to the user manual for the headset to connect the headset and the computer correctly, and confirm that the connection is in good contact.
  2. Confirm the audio interfaces of the headset and the computer are no dirty. Please keep all the interfaces clean to prevent poor contact.
  3. If this problem occurs with EKSA wireless headsets, please note that the normal transmission distance is generally 10 meters. The sound quality would decline if the distance is too far. It is advisable to use the headset within the transmission range.
  4. If the headsets have batteries, they should be charged in time to ensure that the batteries have enough power. If the battery power is too low, the headsets will work abnormally.
  5. Please change to another computer for testing.
Headsets don't sound good enough.
  1. Activate the 7.1 virtual surround sound of the headset when playing games to improve the sound effect. (Please make sure that the headset supports 7.1 virtual surround sound)
  2. The sound quality of the new headset would significantly improve after a period of burn-in use.
  3. Adjusting the position of wearing the headset, using a higher-quality audio source will effectively improve the sound quality.
  4. If this problem occurs with EKSA wireless headsets, please note that the normal transmission distance is generally 10 meters. The sound quality will decline if the distance is too far. It is advisable to use the headset within the transmission range.
The microphone call is not good enough.
  1. The microphone pole should be as close to the mouth as possible to improve the microphone sound effect.
  2. Turn on the microphone's ENC (Environmental Noise Cancelling) function, which can effectively reduce noise interference (if the headset can switch the ENC function on and off).
  3. Check the network condition on both sides of the call to prevent poor call performance due to poor network.
  4. If this problem occurs with EKSA wireless headsets, please note that the normal transmission distance is generally 10 meters. The sound quality will decline if the distance is too far. It is advisable to use the headset within the transmission range.
Headsets don't power on/not work/unrecognized.
  1. Please refer to the user manual to connect the headset and the computer correctly, and confirm that the connection is in good contact.
  2. Check whether the power supply of the headset is normal, and ensure that the headset can be switched on and off normally.
  3. Confirm the interface of the headset and the interface of the computer are no dirty; please keep the interface clean to prevent poor contact.
  4. If the headsets have batteries, they should be charged in time to ensure that the batteries have enough power. If the battery power is too low, the headsets would work abnormally.
Headset backlight is not turned on.
  1. Make sure that the headset light control is turned on.
  2. Check whether the power supply of the headset is normal, and ensure that the headset can be turned on and off normally.
  3. Confirm the interface of the headset and the interface of the computer are no dirty. Please keep the interface clean to prevent poor contact.
  4. If the headsets have batteries, they should be charged in time to ensure that the batteries have enough power. If the battery power is too low, the headsets would work abnormally.
Wireless headsets have a short transmission distance and the sound is stuck.
  1. The transmission distance of EKSA wireless headsets is generally 10 meters. If the distance is too far, the sound quality will be degraded and the sound will be stuck.
  2. It is necessary to charge the headset in time to ensure that the battery has sufficient power. If the battery power is too low, the transmission distance of the headset would get shortened.
  3. Too many wireless devices in the surroundings will cause greater interference, so stay away from places with much interference when you're using a wireless headset.
  4. Many obstacles around you will block the transmission of wireless signals. Stay away from places with many obstacles when you're using a wireless headset.
  5. Check the network condition on both sides of the call to prevent poor call performance due to poor network.

  • How to get the driver for 7.1 surround sound?

E1000 doesn't need driver for 7.1 surround sound because of built-in USB audio sound chip.

  • Too much background noise, which disturbs my chats.

The effect of noice cancellation depends on the environment. The microphone will absorb and deliver the noise if in much too noisy environments.

  • Every time I plug the headset to my laptop, "USB device not recognized" appears.

1) Please check whether the jack is properly plugged. 2) Please check if there' re any dirt or debris on the audio ports and audio jack. 3)Please try to test the headset on other devices.

  • The mic records no sound.

Please ensure that your device's mute switch is consistently turned off, maintaining an unmuted state.

  • How to turn off the LED light unless unplug the headset?

The only way to turn the light off is to unplug the headset.

  • The sound from the headset is distorted.

Please ensure that your device is well connected and not linked to a high-power amplifier.

  • The 7.1 virtual surround sound doesn't work.

  • The sound would disappear every time when I slightly hit the wire by mistake.

Please kindly troubleshoot the wire by checking if the jack is properly plugged, ensuring there is no dirt or debris on the audio ports and audio jack, testing the headset on other devices, and considering the possibility of a burnt-out cable if nothing changes.

  • The 3.5mm audio cable/USB cable cannot work properly on my headset.

  • Does the 7.1 surround sound work on my phone?

Sorry, it doesn't. Please note that E900 Pro only can work on PC with USB interface.

  • What's the difference among EKSA E900, E900 Pro and E900 Plus gaming headset? 

They all are wired gaming headsets, but:

1) E900 equips with only a fixed 3.5mm audio cable and it produces stereo sound and it has no driver to install.

2) E900 Pro equips with LED lights, detachable USB & 3.5mm cables to produce an exceptional acoustic gaming experience for pro-gamers.With the driver installed, it can produce 7.1 virtual Surround Sound & immersive audio.

3) E900 Plus equips with LED lights and only a fixed USB cable; it can produce ENC 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound without any drivers.

  • How to set up E900 on my device?

It's plug and play, so you don't have to set up anything else.

  • The sound would disappear every time when I slightly hit the wire by mistake.

Yes, it can.

  • Is 7.1 surround sound applicable to mobile phone?

No, 7.1 Surround sound can only work on PC with USB cable plugged. 

  • The volume button always worked fine, but suddenly turn to disabled.

Please check whether you have mistakenly muted your device somewhere.

  • The microphone had a sort of tinny sound to it and was not picking up my voice more than the ambient noise around it. 

Please try to test the microphone on other devices to see whether it can normally record the sound.

  • Sound is low and it's not easy to differentiate between foot steps and gunshots.

It might result from distorted sound. Kindly check whether your headset has been well connected with your device. But please note that the sound of gaming headsets are usually lower.

  • How to set up the 7.1 surround sound?

No driver need. It is working once you plug the headset into your PC.

  • Noise cancellation doesn't work on my devices.

The noise cancellation is to reduce low-frequency noise, not high-frequency noise like human voice.

  • Upon connecting them to the PS4, the side lights activate, yet the audio persists solely through the TV.

Kindly check whether you have properly set up the headset on PS4. For more details, please refer to How to set up EKSA Gaming Headset on PS4.

  • I failed to turn on this headset. 

1) Please try to charge it and make sure the battery is not wearing out.

2) Please try to turn it on after the audio cable plugged and make sure the headset is not crashing.

  • I failed to connect Bluetooth.

1) Please check whether the Bluetooth mode has turn on.

2) Please check whether the headset has paired with your device.

3) Please check whether your device has too much Bluetooth connection. (<5 would be better)

4) Please check whether your device loses connection with the headset after using for some time.

  • What can I do when headphones has a system crash?

Please prioritize restarting the device by directly plugging the 3.5mm audio cable into it, or alternatively, kindly ensure it is charged.

  • The button doesn’t function.

Kindly try to restart the headset.

  • Does it work in wired mode? 

No, only wireless mode.

  • My E5 suddenly stopped charging.

Kindly test your charging cable on another device. If the cord can work well, then the issue results from the headset itself.

  • It stopped working, but the light keeps flashing. 

Kindly check whether the Bluetooth has disconnected; please try to turn off your headset and then restart.

  • It makes strange noise for a few seconds when I turn on the headset.

It's the electric interference noise which will disappear after connected with your device.

  • Does it have a button to answer calls?

Yes, you can press the function key to answer the call and long press the function key to hang it up.
